What a BUSY SEASON!
I’m very excited to share with you, not only new prayer requests, but how God has been busy answering our prayers & doing some miraculous things during this time.
More paperwork has been submitted with hopes that construction on Abba’s House will start sometime in September. Of course, please keep this in your prayers, as I’m sure the enemy is not hoping for that!
The Meissners put their home on the market a few weeks ago, & in a mere 4 days, after a whirlwind of 19 showings, an open house & 4 really good offers, they accepted one of the offers! Just as beautiful is the buyer God had in mind for their home… a dietitian from a small town who grew up on a farm who loves the garden, fruit trees & the chickens… so much in fact, that the chickens are staying with the new owner! All is going well with inspections, etc. so it looks like the Meissners will be moving into their temporary home near the beginning of September. God is so good!
Now, some of you may be thinking, “That’s great, but where are the Meissners going to live while Abba’s House is being built?” That’s an excellent question, & the answer brings to mind Acts 2:42-47. You see, the mom of one of the families connected with Abba’s House is going to move in with her daughter & son-in-law, while the Meissners live in her house until Abba’s House is built! Yes, you read that right! Like I said, Acts 2:42-47 stuff is happening right here & now, my friends! I can’t make this stuff up! God is simply amazing!
Back on July 12, Michael gave a presentation to Bayou City Fellowship’s Mission Board to share what God is doing with Abba’s House. After prayer, reflection & consideration, God put it on their hearts to partner with Abba’s House with a generous donation, as well as a desire for their people to be involved with Abba’s House in the future! Thank you, God!

August 25 the movie “All Saints” opens in theaters. All Saints is based on the inspiring true story of salesman-turned-pastor Michael Spurlock (John Corbett), the tiny church he was ordered to shut down, and a group of Karen (kuh-REN) refugees from Burma. Michael must choose between completing what he was assigned to do—close the church and sell the property—or listening to a still, small voice challenging the people of All Saints to risk it all and provide much-needed hope to their new community. We are working on getting reservations for a group showing of All Saints for friends & partners of Abba’s House, but need to know how many people are interested in attending. It will most likely be on Aug 25 at 7 pm at AMC Willowbrook 24 (Gessner & 249). Please email wendylovesnepal@gmail.com by Sunday Aug 13, if you are interested in attending, & how many additional guest you would like to attend with you. Once we have a count, I will contact the theater & then send out a follow-up email with more details.
